I managed to get a job at a top company, but I wasn't able to work for more than a month. What could be the reason I'm being fired from my office?

My first assumption - You are a fresh graduate or someone with less than 3-4 years of experience. Let me share a small story. A few years ago, the Managing Director of the organization, I was working with, shared a resume and asked me to find a right job for the person and he also told me to handle the case on priority. I got to know that the job seeker was a nephew of the best friend and the neighbour of our Managing Director. Though this person was a commerce graduate with MBA in Marketing, he was without a job for over a year. I spoke to the Sales Head of our organization, arranged for the interview with the job seeker, rigged his interview and sent across the offer letter within SEVEN days. He joined. Later, we had to fire this person within TWO months of joining for indiscipline, insubordination, poor productivity, and terrible work ethics. Every day he would leave the organization by 5 PM without submitting his daily work status report. He didn’t know how to use MS Office and Outlook. On the top of that, he would go around and tell people that the Managing Director is his family friend and for that reason, he cannot be fired from work.

I am not saying that you are same as the candidate I am talking about. But what I am trying to say is that it is easy to get a job, if you know the right people in an organization. What you do after getting a job makes all the difference. I also know people, who were not getting a job in the competitive market but got the one through references and contacts. Later they got themselves trained on the job, Learned their work, Stayed late in the office, Demonstrated the right skills and attitude, Worked hard on developing their skills and competencies. And later, through their consistency and persistence, they moved up the organizational hierarchy.      

My second assumption – You are an experienced candidate with over FIVE years of experience. In that case, there is a very high probability that you have failed the Background Verification. Or, maybe you have misrepresented few facts about yourself and your employment history in the interview process and on cross verification, your lie has been detected. Hence, you have been fired within one month of joining an organization of your dream.
